Brush Type
Custom Spiral Brushes
Choose a spiral brush when a helical filament path must sweep, guide, spread, clean, or discharge material progressively along a rotating cylinder.
Type Overview
Spiral brushes arrange strip, tuft, or wound filament in a helix around a shaft or core. Unlike a straight-row roller, the angled path introduces progressive contact along the working width and can direct loosened material toward one side or away from a process zone.
Helix direction, pitch, number of starts, outside diameter, working length, trim, density, and shaft interface determine coverage and discharge. The spiral must be matched to rotation direction and material flow; the wrong hand or pitch can move residue toward the wrong side or leave gaps in contact.

Common Configurations
Single-helix roller
One continuous spiral for progressive wiping, guiding, or conveying along the width.
Double or multi-start helix
Several interleaved spirals increase contact frequency and can improve balance or coverage.
Left- or right-hand discharge brush
Helix hand is selected to move residue toward the intended collection or discharge side.
Opposed chevron layout
Left- and right-hand spirals meet at the center or ends to control material flow.
Segmented spiral assembly
Replaceable rings, strips, or modules create a helical path on a serviceable core.
Material Selection Guidelines
PBT
Wet or repeated industrial contact with good recovery and low water absorption.
Nylon PA
General sweeping, guiding, and cleaning with broad stiffness and wear options.
Polypropylene PP
Economical wet or chemical service where the temperature and load are suitable.
Wire or abrasive filament
Aggressive cleaning or conditioning only where the process and surface allow it.
Technical Considerations
Provide the shaft drawing, working length and diameter, helix hand and pitch, rotation direction, material-flow direction, residue, line speed or customer-supplied machine speed, installed contact, balance requirement, and replaceable-section preference.
