Material

PVA Sponge

PVA Sponge is selected from its stiffness, recovery, wear, wet-service, chemical, and temperature behavior. Material name alone is not enough to set stiffness; we also need filament diameter, free trim, density, grade, and working conditions.

PVA Sponge

Material Overview

Industrial PVA sponge rollers are hydrophilic porous polymer bodies used for moisture removal, wiping, scrubbing and liquid transfer.

In a finished brush, PVA Sponge does not create a fixed stiffness by itself. Filament diameter, trim length, density, tuft layout, and installed contact determine working force, while grade and environment affect durability and recovery.

Material Properties

Apparent density60–180 kg/m³
Pore size60–500 µm
Water uptake5–12 times dry weight

Brush Applications

For PVA Sponge, directly related brush structures include Handheld Detail Brushes, Roller and Conveyor Brushes, and Tube & Pipe Bore Brushes. Applications related to PVA Sponge include PCB Cleaning, Connector & Slot Cleaning, Printer & Scanner Cleaning, and Semiconductor Wafer & Chip Cleaning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key properties of PVA Sponge brush material?

Industrial PVA sponge rollers are hydrophilic porous polymer bodies used for moisture removal, wiping, scrubbing and liquid transfer. Direct data: Apparent density: 60–180 kg/m³; Pore size: 60–500 µm; Water uptake: 5–12 times dry weight; Use temperature: 5–80°C; Compression set: low when kept conditioned.

Where is PVA Sponge used in cleaning brushes?

Glass, PCB and precision wet cleaning or drying rollers that need high water uptake and uniform contact.

How does filament geometry change PVA Sponge brush stiffness?

PVA Sponge changes brush stiffness through filament diameter, free trim, density, crimp, and contact. Use finer filament and longer trim for conformable contact; use coarser filament, shorter trim, or higher density for stronger displacement or cutting.

When should PVA Sponge be replaced by another material?

Compare PVA Sponge with PU sponge, PP sponge, microfiber. Change material when wet stiffness, temperature, chemical resistance, conductivity, particle shedding, or surface marking becomes the limiting factor.
