Rubber is selected from its stiffness, recovery, wear, wet-service, chemical, and temperature behavior. Stiffness is set by the complete filament specification, including material, diameter, free trim, density, grade, and service conditions.

Material Overview
Rubber is a generic term for natural or synthetic elastomers that recover after deformation; it does not identify a usable compound by itself.
In a finished brush, Rubber does not create a fixed stiffness by itself. Contact performance comes from the filament geometry and installed setting; grade, moisture, heat, and chemistry determine how it performs over time.
