Material

PET Polyester

PET Polyester is selected from its stiffness, recovery, wear, wet-service, chemical, and temperature behavior. Stiffness is set by the complete filament specification, including material, diameter, free trim, density, grade, and service conditions.

PET Polyester

Material Overview

PET is a semicrystalline polyester; reinforced molding grades demonstrate stiffness and broad chemical resistance, while brush filament behavior remains grade-specific.

In a finished brush, PET Polyester does not create a fixed stiffness by itself. Working stiffness and recovery depend on filament size, free trim, density, tuft pattern, and contact. Grade and operating conditions determine how stable that behavior remains.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key properties of PET Polyester brush material?

PET is a semicrystalline polyester; reinforced molding grades demonstrate stiffness and broad chemical resistance, while brush filament behavior remains grade-specific. Direct data: Density: 1.34–1.39 g/cm³; Melting point: 250–260°C; Water absorption: 0.1–0.5%; Filament diameter: 0.08–1.20 mm; Brush operating range: -20–120°C.

Where is PET Polyester used in cleaning brushes?

Outdoor washing, carpet agitation, brush plates and general cleaning where weathering and low water uptake are useful.

How does filament geometry change PET Polyester brush stiffness?

PET Polyester changes brush stiffness through filament diameter, free trim, density, crimp, and contact. Use finer filament and longer trim for conformable contact; use coarser filament, shorter trim, or higher density for stronger displacement or cutting.

When should PET Polyester be replaced by another material?

Compare PET Polyester with PBT, PP, Nylon. Change material when wet stiffness, temperature, chemical resistance, conductivity, particle shedding, or surface marking becomes the limiting factor.
