500mm SiC Heavy Duty Floor Disc Brush

The 500mm SiC Heavy Duty Floor Disc Brush is a circular brush head designed specifically for machine-driven floor scrubbing. It consists of a polypropylene disc base with rows or rings of nylon bristles that have been embedded with silicon carbide abrasive. The bristles extend 35mm from the base and cover the entire downward-facing surface of the disc.

The brush mounts to a floor scrubber’s drive deck through a snap-fit interface. When the scrubber rotates the disc and applies water or cleaning solution, the abrasive bristles mechanically scrub the floor, dislodging attached dirt, oil, rubber, and other residues that standard non-abrasive brushes cannot remove. The loosened debris is then collected by the machine’s vacuum or squeegee system, or it is rinsed away in a follow-up pass.

This brush is built for aggressive cleaning on hard, durable surfaces. It is not a polishing tool, a stripping pad, or a brush for soft or coated flooring. Its role is to provide the mechanical cutting action needed to restore heavily soiled concrete, epoxy, and tile floors in high-traffic commercial environments.

The brush is intended for hard, durable surfaces that can tolerate aggressive abrasive contact. It is not suitable for vinyl, linoleum, polished stone, or coated wood flooring.

Start with your scrubber compatibility. Confirm that your machine’s brush deck accepts a 500mm disc and that the drive adapter type matches our snap-fit interface. Send us the machine make and model, and we will verify the correct adapter ring. A disc that does not lock properly can wobble, wear unevenly, or detach during operation.

Match the abrasive grit to the soil load. Use 46 grit for heavy build-up, thick oil, or rough concrete that needs maximum cutting action. Use 60 grit as the standard general-purpose choice for routine deep scrubbing. Use 80–120 grit for lighter residues on smoother epoxy or coated floors where a softer abrasive is sufficient. If you are unsure, begin with 60 grit and adjust based on the first cleaning results.

Adjust fill density and trim for the floor profile. Textured floors and wide grout lines need a longer trim length and a more open fill pattern so the bristles can reach into valleys. Smooth, flat floors perform better with a denser fill and shorter trim that concentrates scrubbing pressure on the surface.

Check chemical compatibility. The PP base and nylon bristles tolerate common alkaline floor cleaners, but avoid prolonged contact with strong solvents or acids unless the specific cleaner has been tested with the brush materials. Provide your cleaning chemical name and concentration so we can confirm suitability.

Choose a different tool when appropriate. For stripping heavy coatings, use a diamond abrasive or a dedicated stripping pad; the SiC nylon brush will not remove thick film as efficiently. For daily light scrubbing on polished or sensitive floors, use a non-abrasive nylon or polypropylene brush to avoid surface dulling. For edges, stairs, or small areas that a floor scrubber cannot reach, use a handheld brush or an edge-cleaning machine.

Every scrubber model and floor condition is different, so the 500mm SiC disc can be configured to your operation. Provide the machine make and model, deck diameter, drive adapter type, floor surface, predominant residues, cleaning chemical, and expected brush life. A photo of the existing brush or drive deck helps us confirm the interface.

• Base material and color – PP in standard color or custom color, with possible recycled content if required.
• Snap-fit adapter type – matched to Tennant, Nilfisk, Hako, Kärcher, Advance, or other scrubber brands.
• Marking and packaging – custom logo, part number printing, bulk packing, or retail packaging.
